Start with an honest riding conversation
Tell your expedition team how often you ride, the terrain you know well and where you would like more support. A route recommendation should fit your current experience and leave you room to learn; the mountains are not a place to prove something to strangers.
Ask how the days are supported
Before you reserve a place, ask what motorcycle is supplied, what support travels with the group, how the riding order works and what happens if a rider needs to stop. Request the current operating itinerary and inclusions in writing.
Build confidence before departure
Spend time on the type of motorcycle you will ride and practice controlled braking, slow turns and standing balance where appropriate. Check your helmet fit and protective layers. Your captain can suggest useful practice based on the actual route.
Leave flexibility in your plans
Mountain roads, weather and access can change. Keep buffer time around the expedition and listen to the guide’s decisions on the day. A safer route adjustment is part of a well-run trip, not a failed itinerary.
