Itinerary
Day 1: Shimla to Sangla via Narkanda
Morning departure from Shimla. Drive through the apple orchards of Kotgarh, ascending through pine forests. Pass through Narkanda and descend into the Sutlej Valley. Arrive at Sangla by evening for an overnight stay.
Day 2: Sangla to Chitkul to Kalpa
A spectacular day exploring the Baspa Valley. Drive to Chitkul — the last inhabited village on the Indo-Tibet border. Walk through snow-covered streets, interact with locals, and soak in views of Kinner Kailash. Return and drive to Kalpa for the night.
Day 3: Kalpa to Nako via Pooh & Khab
Epic drive along the Hindustan-Tibet Highway. Pass through Pooh, cross Khab Bridge at the Spiti-Sutlej confluence. Ascend to Nako village, famous for its frozen lake and ancient monastery. Walk on the frozen lake and watch sunset paint Reo Purgyil peak.
Day 4: Nako to Kaza via Gue & Tabo
Enter Spiti Valley through Sumdo check post. Visit the mysterious Gue Monastery housing a 550-year-old naturally preserved mummy. Continue to Tabo Monastery — the 'Ajanta of the Himalayas' dating back to 996 AD. Arrive at Kaza, Spiti's headquarters.
Day 5: Kaza — Langza, Hikkim & Komic Loop
The highlight day! Drive through snow-laden roads to Langza — the fossil village with a towering golden Buddha statue. Continue to Hikkim to send postcards from the world's highest post office. Reach Komic at 14,931 ft — one of the highest motorable villages on Earth.
Day 6: Kaza to Shimla (Return)
Early start for the long drive back. Descend through Spiti Valley, retracing the route via Tabo, Nako, Pooh, and Rampur. Arrive at Shimla by late evening with lifetime memories of a winter wonderland.

Yes, our SUVs are equipped with snow chains and heaters. Our drivers average 10+ years of winter mountain driving. We carry oxygen and first aid always.
What winter clothing is required?
4-5 layers: thermal inners, fleece, down jacket, windproof outer, snow boots, woolen socks, insulated gloves. We provide a detailed packing list.
Are roads open during winter?
The Shimla-Kaza road via Kinnaur stays open year-round (weather permitting). Kunzum Pass route from Manali is closed in winter.
